Stillhouse Junkies

This talented American trio combines a wide range of influences including bluegrass, Western Swing and acoustic country, to create an attractive groove-filled blend of American roots music. Born out of a longstanding residency at a distillery in Durango, Stillhouse Junkies quickly established a solid fan base on the Colorado music scene. They’ve built up their following over the last several years, performing at venues and festivals across the USA. They were finalists in the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival band contest in both 2018 and 2019, and performed as showcase artists at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s virtual festival and conference in autumn 2020.

The band’s latest album, the unwittingly named Calamity, was released in early 2020 and Stillhouse Junkies were all set to make their UK touring debut last March, before Covid-19 stopped play. Since then, these three talented musicians have continued to work on creative ways to share their music, including a successful programme of mini “front yard gigs” across their hometown of Durango throughout the summer and autumn. Once the weather got colder, the band launched their online concert series Sidecar, hosting other artists as well as occasionally performing themselves.

Fred Kosak (guitar/mandolin/vocals), Alissa Wolf (fiddle/vocals), and Cody Tinnin (double bass/banjo/vocals) have built up an eclectic catalogue of fine original music alongside some fun and creative covers. Paying tribute to the remarkable diversity of the Southwestern USA, their songs run the gamut of human experience - confronting adversity in its many forms or imagining reality from the perspective of a small-town bartender or a lonely cattle driver. Combining outstanding musicianship with a lively stage presence, Stillhouse Junkies are sure to win many new fans at TLR Live Online, and they’re looking forward to getting over to perform in the UK in person once the pandemic is over.
