The return of Oklahoma native, Carter Sampson, who played a double header with Amelia White back in July 2023. This time she’s back with a full band and it has become something of the TLR house band, featuring the talents of Jamie Dawson on drums; Scott Warman on bass; and the brilliant, AMA UK nominated Joe Coombes on lead guitar!

Carter Sampson

Oklahoma is a hotbed of good music and no-one knows that better than the self-crowned ‘Queen of Oklahoma’ Carter Sampson, who will be touring the UK with her full band from 28 Feb to 16 March 2025.

Born and raised in the central state, Sampson writes relatable and honest songs about family, love, life and historical characters. She’s released six albums with her two latest records being released on the influential Horton record label. Her last album, Gold, spent many months on the Americana Music Charts.

She tours internationally, and has had much success playing regularly in Europe and the UK: ‘I really love playing in the UK. I joke about it a lot but American audiences are generally loud and don’t listen very well – English audiences are so quiet and kind.’

Carter won first place in the Chris Austin Songwriting contest at Merlefest, NC, and has performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest and the Lincoln Center in NYC as a top finalist in their respective songwriting contests.

Carter is also the founder and director of The Rock and Roll Camp for Girls OKC, a non-profit organisation set up in Oklahoma that empowers girls, women and non-binary folks through music education.

‘Add her high-quality song writing and gorgeous vocals and she is no longer a promising country singer songwriter but one who can now be talked about as being one of the very best around. If 'Wilder side' sowed the seeds this tremendous album brings that talent into full bloom.’ -americanrootsuk.com
