Charm of Finches (AUS)
Sun 4th April 2027Doors 6pm, show 7pm. All seated.
The return of one of the most original acts working in world folk music today. We discovered this amazing duo in New Orleans in 2020 and fell in love with their music. This will be their third visit since their TLR debut and they’ll have a brand new album with them!
Charm of Finches
Sister duo Charm of Finches delivers intricate folk-pop that is simultaneously graceful and darkly bewitching. Their seamless blood harmonies traverse melancholy and wonder in equal measure.
Now based in Glasgow, Scotland, Australian sisters Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes, have toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and Canada in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Having toured their fourth studio album ‘Marlinchen In The Snow’ in 2024, they return to release their brand new single ‘Meteor’, inspired by the powerful forces of nature that reflect a tumultuous inner world. Recorded by the ocean in Victoria, Australia and mixed in Canada by acclaimed Canadian producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, Good Lovelies) who produced their previous two albums, Meteor marks the beginning of a string of new music to be released throughout 2026.
Charm of Finches are winners of the Australian Folk Music Awards Best Folk Album (2022), Music Victoria Best Folk Act (2021) and have been nominated twice for the Australian Music Prize.
‘folk purity...affecting and emotional’ - The Music
‘stunning new folk...a delightful and dreamy listen’ - Paul Gough - ABC Radio National
‘Lies...a beautifully ornate piece of folk music that feels both organic and layered with contemporary details. Their voices intertwine harmoniously one moment and then spiral off into ethereal and wonderfully melodic spaces.’ — Post to Wire
