Grupo Lokito
Enjoy a great night out with the acclaimed world music band Grupo Lokito. Grupo Lokito play an infectious cocktail of Cuban and Congolese sounds guaranteed to get crowds up and dancing.
Since the band formed in 2006, Grupo Lokito has toured the UK extensively. They’ve played London Jazz Festival, WOMAD and African Oyé wowing thousands with their superb musicianship and exciting live show. They will dance floors wherever they go.
Congolese frontmen Eugene Makuta and Iddo Donnatella’s glorious vocals float over the soaring guitars of the Kenyan rising star Shama Shah and the rhythmic grooves of Dan Waldman. These blend with the lilting keyboards of Sara McGuinness over the solid foundation of bassist Jimmy Martinez, Lilli Ahvenian on Congas and Ernesto Marichales on drums.
